Day 1 – Sleep Hygiene

Set the scene!  Sort out your bedroom!

This is super important for a good night’s sleep.  We spend 1/3 of our lives there so it should be a nice environment right?

Here are some things to consider, make some changes if you think will help you 😊

Do you have a mattress that is suited to you? – hopefully you do as this can be expensive. If not, think about investing if you can.
Do you like your pillow?
You have to like your bed sheets  and clean them often – don’t you just love getting into a bed with fresh sheets?!
Make sure there is no light in your room – invest in blackout blinds to avoid you waking up to early
Temperature of the room – as we come into summer (in Oz) we need fans or aircon, the room needs to be 18 degrees.  Colder is better than to hot.
Declutter your room – make it space that doesn’t give you anxiety because it’s such a mess
Smells – lavender on your pillow for example- it has a calming effect
Pop your phone away from the side of you bed – if you do use it for your alarm out it on the other side of the room, it will help you get up in the morning.

I will be changing my sheets today and I am going to get some lavender oil for my diffuser 🙂

  1. Started last night to get into the routine … solid 9 hrs with only a couple of wake ups. Could’ve gone back to bed this morning but I decided to have a coffee and read instead. Was lovely xx
