Imperfect Action

Imperfect action.

It does not have to be all or nothing.  Why?  Because life stuff will always get in the way, always!

Some action is better than perfection and some action is better than nothing.

Me this month.

My usual non-negotiables are 

12,000 per day – this requires a lot of effort as I have a sit down job

I go to the gym to lift weights 3 times a week and run 5km twice

To keep my bedtime routine

To drink enough water so my pee is clear

To hit my protein daily target

To eat 7-10 fruit and veg each day

What life happened

My daughter has been on school holidays and I have had no car – I have been unable to go to the gym for the last 2 weeks 

What did I do instead – 3 home workouts per week 

Not exactly the workout I get at the gym but it was still action

Work and study – So busy with these

Steps had to take a hit the last 2 weeks – only been doing 5000-10000

I’ve been unable to get out for my long walks because my daughter is not up for it

I’ve just been going when I can around work and hubby getting home – some action at least

I got a puppy
This affecting my sleep for 4 nights – 5th day I felt like a zombie!

I still stayed in my routine but I was not getting the 7 hours, more like 2 LOL!

All good now and he has slept for 2 whole nights which means I have too!

The other non-negotiables have been on point.  Aside from the sleep thing which we cant always control I’m still really happy with my month overall.  I didn’t let the whole thing slip, I did my best with what time I had, resources and energy I had.  Next month Hanna is back at school, I am back in the office 2 days a week which means I can get back in the gym, my routine returns! Who knows what life will bring next month though.

There is never ever a perfect time to start something and its ok if your week wasn’t perfect.  Instead of reflecting on what you didn’t do, reflect on what you did do and pat yourself on the back for that.
